An outburst of syphilis is sweeping across Europe, and new HIV infections are also steadily rising. More than 1 million new STD infections are acquired every day worldwide. And yet, the public discourse seems to view sexually transmitted infections as a thing of the past.
In this surprisingly light-hearted episode of Standard Time, medical doctors and a sex work activist talk screening, education, and stigma. This episode comes forth just ahead of 1 December, World AIDS Day, so we chose our topic accordingly.
Guests of the episode are
Dr. Danae Maragouthakis, medical doctor, sex educator, co-founder of Yoxly
Dr. Béla Tamási, dermatologist and STD specialist, National STD Centre in Budapest, Hungary
Trajche Janushev, programme officer at SWAN, the Sex Worker’s Rights Advocacy Network
